"Des cercles en cercle" (UA bei Ultraschall am 25.1.). This is an evening with only this piece, which was composed between October 2007 and January 2008, motivated by Folkmar Hein to whom it is dedicated.
This piece uses both concrete sounds (mostly morphing between voice and percussion instruments) and synthetic sounds (mostly spectral derivations from the concrete sounds models) which are interdependent and “pretend” to show the same nature.
Formally the piece is built upon repetition of loops (that is loops of loops), although the loop nature is hidden by the continuously varying processing and synthesis that is superimposed on them, dissolving the repetitions.
